The unit for radiology and MR physics consists of 16 hospital physicists, including two specialized in MR physics, one nurse, and one biomedical analyst. We serve all radiology departments in the region with our expertise. All employees within the unit are employed by Skåne University Hospital, Sus.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a hospital physicist with a focus on MR physics, or alternatively an MR physicist, who wants to be part of our forward-looking team! The position involves an expansion of the number of hospital physicists with MR competence in the region. The placement is in Helsingborg, where you will be part of an engaged group consisting of doctors and radiology nurses who want to drive MR development forward in the northwestern part of Skåne. Currently, there are two hospital physicists placed in Helsingborg, one in radiological physics and one in nuclear medicine physics.

With us, you will work on the development and optimization of examination techniques and pulse sequences, as well as being responsible for safety issues, safety training, and quality work related to MR operations. You will participate in procurements, inspections, and teaching. You will also, through collaboration with other hospital physicists in Region Skåne, provide support in implementing clinical research studies with an MR focus. 50 percent of the work will be done in close collaboration with healthcare personnel at the Diagnostic Operations area in Helsingborg, Ängelholm, and Landskrona. The remaining 50 percent of the work is expected to be carried out at corresponding units at other hospitals in Region Skåne, where you will collaborate with your colleagues in MR physics. Therefore, there will be travel to other hospitals in the region as needed.

The position has a clinical focus with an emphasis on method development and optimization of examination quality. There is an opportunity for collaboration with research groups within Medical Radiation Physics at Lund University focusing on MR physics, but most of the work is expected to take place within the clinical operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed hospital physicist with permission to practice in Swedish healthcare or have equivalent competence. You have language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale. Good knowledge of English is also a requirement. Experience working as a hospital physicist with a focus on MR or as an MR physicist is meritorious, as well as specialist designation and doctoral education.

As a person, you are analytical, have high integrity, and good collaboration skills. Structure and the ability to complete the tasks you are responsible for are required for the position. We would like you to be outgoing and have a high degree of flexibility, documentation ability, and the ability to see the big picture. Additionally, you are accustomed to working both independently and in a team. Besides good collaboration skills with other healthcare professionals, a strong personal drive is required.
